Newland supplies Ozone Generators System for Venta Alta Drinking Water Plant in Spain

Newland EnTech Europe has been awarded the installation of two ozone generators systems for Vental Alta DWP in Bilbao, Spain.

Newland awarded the project to build the ozonation in Venta Alta DWP for the Bilbao Bizkaia Water Consortium.

The project aim is to provide this WWTP with a two-stage ozonation system: pre-ozonation and intermediate ozonation to ensure compliance with the new Directive 2020/2184 of the European Parliament and of the Council of December 16, 2020, on the quality of water intended for human consumption.

Newland EnTech Europe will supply an ozone generation plant from liquid oxygen. The system will consist of two high-efficiency NLO series generators, equipped with the most modern safety systems in terms of dielectric protection and with an advanced energy consumption control system.

The Venta Alta WWTP with its capacity of up to 7 cubic meters per second will have two complete ozone production units of 20 kg/h each, where it will be subjected to high-voltage and high-frequency silent electrical discharges in order to transform the oxygen in the air into ozone.

Each ozone generator incorporates a regulation loop to optimize energy consumption and thus minimize operating costs.

The heat dissipation in the ozone generators will be carried out by means of two closed-circuit cooling systems in order to preserve the construction materials of the equipment in the long term.

The ozone generated is sent to the contact chambers, where it will be transferred to the water.

In the Preozonizacion stage Newland design 6 high efficiency injectors system for the two ozone lines.

In the intermediate ozonation before the activated carbon, the diffusion system will carry out by means of high-efficiency dome-type porous diffusers.

The plant will be equipped with the most modern security systems in order to protect the work of the plant operators.
